Best Time to Visit

Located on the Equator, Uganda’s temperature has little year round fluctuation. The hottest months are in January and February where temperatures reach up to 40°C making wildlife hard to photograph but this is in the North. Our experts have located our photographic destinations in the South West where the weather is pretty much constant throughout the year where wildlife thrives.

The best time to go to Uganda is between June to September in the drier season where the wildlife is more visible and the weather is relatively pleasant with minimal rain.

The South of Uganda where we focus, has two wet seasons: September to November and March to May. We advise travellers to go in between these two dates when vegetation becomes dry and wildlife viewing is at its best. Trails for Chimpanzee trekking and Mountain Gorilla trekking is easier during these months when carrying telephoto lenses with your expert guides. There are fewer mosquitoes making your time in Uganda more enjoyable.
