Located in the vast forests of Kibale, Bwindi and Queen Elizabeth National Park, Untamed Photography’s award-winning wildlife photographers will take you on an inspirational and once in a lifetime 10 day photographic workshop/safari in the heart of Uganda. Here you will make a memorable journey to photograph the great Chimpanzees of the forest and the exceedingly rare Mountain Gorillas that feed in the Ugandan mountains. During this unique trip, we will take you into the Queen Elizabeth National Park where we will focus on getting great images of the famous Big Five and the many other species of wildlife on and off land to satisfy your photographic needs.

DSLR Camera

200mm lens: Perfect for close encounters with wildlife.     


Wide angle lenses (30/40mm): Useful for landscape photography during the photo safari. Easy to store and use for travel.


60-600mm Sigma lens: (Highly Recommended) A fantastic two-in-one lens for Canon and Nikon. Perfect for wildlife photography. 


1-2 camera bodies: Two cameras can be helpful however one camera body is perfect during our photographic tours.


Monopod: (Highly Recommended) We recommend a monopod while on safari, for these are perfect for balancing your telephoto and are easy to set up when wildlife is present.


Laptop & Hard Drive: As all photographers like to return and briefly view their images, laptops are advised. Also backing up your images of a life time onto an external device such as a hard drive is a must.


Multiple CF Cards/SD Cards: (Recommended)


The accommodation provided at all three locations of this tour gives you a more than comfortable stay but in a rather adventurous environment. This will give you a true feeling of what Uganda has to offer. With our local and more than friendly Ugandan staff we will ensure your stay with us to be unique and fulfilling. Untamed Photography provides English speaking wildlife photographers and local staff at all accommodation during our unique photographic safaris.

Wild Chimpanzee, Kibale National Park, Uganda



After your arrival at the airport of Entebbe, Untamed Photography’s photographers will welcome you and you will take your journey through the lands of Uganda and to the forest of Kibale where we will settle into the Kibale Forest Camp. Then we will go through the plan for the trip accompanied with the other photographers that will be attending the workshop/safari. You will get the first day to get the feel of the place and you will be taken onto the outskirts of the forest to photograph the wildlife that feed in the forests such as the Olive Baboons.


DAYS 2-3

Day two and three will be spent tracking and photographing the chimpanzees and is truly a memory of a lifetime. The days begin with an early breakfast at the rainforest lodge imbedded deep in the rainforest. At 7am we will travel to the location of the Chimps in the Kibale National Park and begin to track them on foot.  We will get to spend approximately 4 hours with them at a close but safe distance to gain those great shots. With the help from our award-winning photographers you will acquire the skills to create stunning images and witness being eye to eye with these impressive animals.

After a hearty lunch, we will take an easy optional stroll around a swamp where we will be in search for other primates such as the Red-tailed Monkey, Red Colobus, Black and White Colobus, L’Hoest Monkey and the Uganda Mangabey to name a few along with many other rainforest encounters. An option to go into the local village or a Crater Lake Exploration can be organised with our staff.



Today after an early breakfast we make our leave through the beautiful scenery of West Uganda to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will find yourself at your bush lodge. Here we will have our first Game evening drive in search of Africa’s best for you to spend time to photograph with the group at your leisure.


DAYS 5-6

These two days will bring you into the lush plains of Africa where Ugandans wildlife thrives. Each day will take you on a morning and evening photo safari drive in search of beautiful wildlife such as the African Leopard, large prides of Lions to the African Elephant. Here you will be instructed by our professionals once again to learn what it takes to produce some of the most unique wildlife images. After each outing, the group can spend the time relaxing or carry on photographing the wildlife that takes a visit to the bush camp.


DAYS 7-8

Day 7 starts with a morning boat safari at 9:00am where we are able to get close and personal with Elephant, Crocodile and Hippo to name a few. We then will take an evening game drive where unlimited species of wildlife are awaiting to be photographed in the vast open plains of Uganda.

The final day in Queen Elizabeth National Park begins with another early morning with breakfast. We head to a southern section (Ishasha) of the park. This is well known for the Tree climbing lions and leopard of the park. You will also get stunning photographic opportunities of Elephants, Buffaloes, among many others. We then continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National park to the jungle lodge where we will arrive in the evening with many photographic opportunities along the way. After our arrival, we will undergo a photographic discussion during the evening before the next days finale: photographic Gorilla safari of a lifetime.


DAYS 9-10

Up early and after breakfast, we will make our way to the ranger’s station at 7am. Here you will be taken on a trek to find the mountain Gorillas in their lush and pristine environment. Once located, you will spend time to photograph them and capture images of a lifetime! Here you will have the chance to photograph other species of smaller monkeys and along with reptiles and amphibians such as the chameleon.

On the final day we will take you safely back to Entebbe and we will say our goodbyes for a safe journey home where you can enjoy reviewing your portfolio!!



Mark has spent years tracking and photographing the wildlife of the many countries in Africa. From the jungles of Uganda to the bush lands of Southern Africa, he brings with him great knowledge of the wildlife and the surrounding areas.
